Accommodation

ASHS provide comfortable accommodation in residential locations in Bristol for young people and unaccompanied asylum seeking children (UASC) between the ages of 16 to 18 who need additional support to develop independent living skills.

All placements offer single or double bedrooms and come fully furnished with quality fixtures and fittings. There is a communal area for cooking and dining where young people will have their own cupboard spaces, as well as a shared living area where they can socialise, play games or watch a movie. There is also a garden for the use of all residents.

We welcome young people bringing their own personal effects and small items which may act as a comfort to them, although unfortunately pets are not allowed. We know a change of accommodation can be a daunting prospect for some young people and we are mindful of making this transition as smooth as possible. We recognise that small details such as the smell of a favourite fabric conditioner can help a young person settle in and ASHS will always explore such issues in preparation for any new placement.

When it comes to post-18 options for young people, we know that early planning is vital. ASHS will therefore work closely with our partners in local authorities to ensure post-18 plans are in place for our young people.
